Writing a picture book manuscript about murals in Philadelphia, along with seeing so many beautiful murals in my daily city life, inspired me to become more involved in mural making. I’ve participated in community paint days for local murals, and I’ve collaborated with Jeffy Thomas a.k.a. Cuttink Studio to design and paint a mural commissioned by a café on Penn’s campus.
Kris Rashid and Cuttink Studio are a Philadelphia muralist team open to collaborating on more mural commissions. We’re most interested in designing murals that:
• Provide a touchpoint for people to gather in community spaces
• Help offer a moment of relaxation in spaces that tend to feel stressful, such as hospitals
• Celebrate the arts such as in music stores, bookshops, and other creative spaces
